5/5/09 11:24 am - He's alive

Yea made you suckas think I was dead or something right? I have kinda gotten out of the whole blogging thing hardcore lately. Telling everyone who actually sees me on a regular basis what's going on. (Lemur quite being such a workaholic!)

Since sept I've weathered a recession that people have been pissing themselves in fear over. "Oh my investments!" Get your money out of there then, cut your losses dumbass!" Sure it'd cause the recession to further turn down but if all these rich morons think they can weather the storm with all their investment money still in there then they are fooling themselves.

People think that the stock market effects everything. From jobs to how much money you have to spend on food. It's not. Ignore that magic ticker and live your life as you normally would. Buy things when you have enough saved up. And sell what you don't need to someone who wants it. Also put a little money on the bank K? If yours falls FDIC has your ass. Up to what? 250,000 now? yea, your fine. If we ignore the "problem" it's going to go away. And for once that's totally the solution. To live our lives, keep spending money (not like idiots) and not hording it like it will be worth a damn thing if the market truly crashes.

On a happier note.

Since we've been last updated with Fiery goodness this boy's had the privlage of playing quite a few games... all were deicent titles at least and I'll talk about those I get motivated.

I bought a motorcycle for basic transportation. A ninjette. OR Ninja 250. 2007 model, in Candy Permission Red with the Grey graphics package, used. It's reasonably peppy. Had about 900 miles when I bought it and it is just an all around very comfortable bike to have.

Bone stock it'll get up and go once you wind the engin out of it's deep sleep below 7000RPM (Remember the power peak is at 12000+RPM jsut shy of it's 13000PRM Redline )and at 8-9000 is where teh torque peak is so having it wrapped pretty hard is the norm, it doesn't see to mind though. having around 20HP on board it has enough ooomph to go 100 MPH if so told to do so, and will happily cruise at 70mph without arguing.

Egros are very nice, no hunching over the bike unless you want to. But at speed you might want to. Because the front windshield on the old plastic style is complete crap. A full face helmet is a must, unless you like bugs on your face. Suspension is soft, which is fine for casual riding, but jerk on the brakes and the nose dives pretty hard and the back end gets light so locking up the rear brake in a panic stop is very much a given. Taking this thing to a proper race track would be a task with the suspension set from the factory it needs to be stiffened up significantly; if nothing else the high speed dampening needs to be a lot stiffer. And finally, and this is my biggest gripe on it. THE TIRES ARE COMPLETE SHIT! Those dunlops probably are the cause of half the spills people had on these bikes. They will last forever but good god I hate pushing this bike with them. I've almost lost it half a dozen times through a set of curves i KNOW. On the limit they are very unpredictable. And at the factory pressure setting it's even worse. Run at least 33PSI in the font tire and 36 PSI in the rear the factory suggested pressures are way too low for anyone weighing above 100lbs.

All in all it's a great bike for a beginner, friendly. Very docile at low RPMs (Squids will say it's gutless), and has a very forgiving nature as long as you DON'T push it hard on the stock tires. Just get yourself a good full face helmet and have fun getting near scooter like fuel economy (I am getting around 70mpg) without having a scooter.

Anyone who's over 200lbs though should look into it's bigger brother. The Ninja 500. I haven't ridden one but I have heard it's almost EXACTLY like the 250, just with more CC's and a good bit more torque. Which will benefit heavier riders. Though Fuel economy will drop into the mid 50s to mid 40s from what I've been told.

9/14/08 08:19 pm - LIfe as a Firey one currently.

Is mundane.

Back on August I got a Job at a Pharmacy / Supermarket / General store. It's an alright job, kinda wishing I had more hours, but all in all alright place to work.

Lately I was promoted to head of electronics and boy, I can say this, I'm -not- happy with how it looks. I knwo there's the potential there for it to look stunning. And that's what I aim to do. But as it sets. That's 100's of man hours away. I want to set up a surround system there for people to listen to, properly. I wanna set up demonstration consoles for people to play on / with. And most of all, I want my Movie section and my music section to be organized! Yeesh!

People annoy me so much with that honestly. They pick up 2 or more movies realize they aren't the price they want then they just leave them, wherever! Only my new releases are making any real sales right now. I don't have honestly the shelf space to put 3 or move of each title out. And I need that kinda space honestly. It's too time consuming to have to check every day, and do a headcount of every title I have to make sure there's at least 2 out there. Which is what I have space for right now. But until I get a second hand here to help me with that I will need to make do.

Sept is upon me so I went and continue to go dove hunting. I have so far not shot a single bird out of the sky. The weather has been horrid, and the doves aren't really flying much. And on the days that it's nice out, I gotta go work :(

7/18/08 01:30 pm - Work related.

Got an interview with a company yesterday, pamida pharmacies. They said they'd let me know today, wish me luck.

5/2/08 06:25 pm

Well the end is almost in sight. Soon I will have much more free times on my hands. I'm glad in a way, but sad in another. I liked the money, I really like having my pockets full enough of money I needn't' worry about the next month. But I miss y'all badly. So... I guess its' better I will soon be layed off this job.

I just got my sweet new 24" LCD, with HDMI and other awesome stuff. Soon to have a brand new rig to hook it up to, meantime, I have to resist the temptation of cranking up the resolution on games. Even though on this thing it's SOOOOO damn tempting.

I will post more, this post is a WIP.

3/25/08 08:13 pm - Grinding for Gold

Well yea, I worked there for a week and now I'm back for 2 months. I need the funds. And honestly, a $2 an hour raise just cinched it for me. So I'm back to workign at the ethanol plant doing finish work there. No more trash patrol for the most part. I just hope to god I don't' have to do more damn lifting 80lb cans of trash over my shoulders 40 times a day.

Sorry for the lack of heads up, it was only yesterday I found out. And today was my first day there again. It just happens like that it seems.

2/23/08 01:16 pm - I have an obsession.

Yes, hard to believe that I'm obsessed with something isn't it? Lately the obsession is around the orange box. Cake, crowbars, and MEEEEDIIIC!

Firstly let me tell you what the orange box is. It's the latest collection of games by Valve software. It contains (Half Life) HL2, HL2 Ep1, HL2 Ep2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal.

Skipping over the HL series (Give ups epp 3 already you bastards! I want Aperture Science tech!)
we get straight to the good stuff. TF2 and Portal.

Portal is one of the most ingenuitive games in, decades? It's like when Ms Pacman first came out. It's beautifully rendered and plays different form any other FPS you have ever played, you have to think, a lot. Sometimes while in midair, falling towards some radioactive waste. Or about to get pushed off a platform so you fall into said waste. Very fun game, not to be underestimated. Plus it has cake.

TF2. Oh my god, class based, team only gaming. Teamwork! TEAMfortress. A single player can't win a match. It takes a team. Sometimes your team is up to 16 people. Sometimes smaller. But either way it's a fun game once you learn the basics. You don't have to fight, there are support classes (though they are mislabeled under categories IMO because a Engineer is hardly a defense class when he can't hold his own without a forward base completely set up and fully upgraded, and still if one good player gets in there hes' gonna need support to fend off the rest of the people that by know know "hey he's about done, rush em!" bleh end rant)you can be the aforementioned engineer, a medic ( Charge me doctor! http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=774#HeavyMedic Oh and scroll up, theres a pretty good rap done Indie style)a spy (stabble stabble! stealth kills r me) or even a sniper (hey, you got a dot on your crotch, I think you might wanna..*high pitched scream*.. nevermind).

With TF2 realism has gone out the window save for physics in the idea that people wanna have fun, and that's what you will have. Its' highly stylish, very fast aced at times, and it is very well balanced, unless you run into the middle of a single class rush of 10 or so people, where you'll be lucky to hurt even one much.

I've been bitten by the TF2 bug and I, well, play about 10 hours of it a week. Quite a bit less lately though ecause of RL happenings. But either way, it's deff worth checking this game box set out. If for nothign else, portal. Even Yahtzee likes portal. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/2541-Zero-Punctuation-The-Orange-Box

Oh and here's a movie with me in it. Towards the end I'm spamming music, and throwing an impromptu rock band as a pyro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl2RjWTeO44

What Mythological Creature are you? (Cool Pics!)
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Faerie

Faerie: Aren't you a cute little flying person? Faeries are earth spirits. They live among each element completely hidden. They have cousins called Pixies. Pixies however, are very mischevious. They enjoy tormenting other creatures for fun. Little pranksters.. I hope you never meet one. Pixies have a bad reputation for finding a creature and clinging to them until death. Faeries can be somewhat close to a Pixie, but mostly they are loving, playful, and carry with them a child-like enthusiasm for life. Hide among the pedals of a Daisy, you are a Faerie.

I Am A: Chaotic Good Human Rogue (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-12

Dexterity-15

Constitution-14

Intelligence-13

Wisdom-17

Charisma-14

Alignment:
Chaotic Good A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment because it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rogues have little in common with each other. While some - maybe even the majority - are stealthy thieves, many serve as scouts, spies, investigators, diplomats, and simple thugs. Rogues are versatile, adaptable, and skilled at getting what others don't want them to get. While not equal to a fighter in combat, a rogue knows how to hit where it hurts, and a sneak attack can dish out a lot of damage. Rogues also seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to avoiding danger. Experienced rogues develop nearly magical powers and skills as they master the arts of stealth, evasion, and sneak attacks. In addition, while not capable of casting spells on their own, a rogue can sometimes 'fake it' well enough to cast spells from scrolls, activate wands, and use just about any other magic item.

12/20/07 10:38 pm - Hey something happened to me!

This is a blatant copy paste from a forum I Frequent. I'm just lazy. and currently, I need to turn of the generator I'm using to power things before it runs dry. I had power about a hour then another old power pole gave up holding the wires.

Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn't but as of 8PM last sunday I lost power. As did most of central Kansas. 2" of freezing rain brought down power lines, tree limbs, and entire trees uprooted. MY CRX caught a tree but sustained "light" damage. Thankfully the windows are in tact, currently it's just now undriveable and has now earned full time 2nd project status until it can be fixed and turned back into my daily driver.

For five days I volunteered at the local Red Cross shelter to do whatever they needed (I have 101 training so I could ''actually'' help, though there were dozens of people that helped anyway) At night the temps dropped into freezing, a few local elderly froze to death that refused to be relocated. The first night there was a few small generators running full tilt to heat a large building that was the shelter. Coming in from numb innards cold to an almost tropical hot was welcome, and very much appreciated. \

The cooks worked dilligantly with local vendors that graciously donated (It was going to spoil anyway. ) whatever they were asked of. During this time some people ate better at the shelter than they did normally, myself included.

The Fire and PD worked round the clock rescuing and securing the town as best they could. And luckily Lyons stayed mostly free of crime. (Though some lowlife stole tools and downed power lines from the linemen)

Farmers and other buissness owners would offer their tractors, their generators, to anyone who needed them, just a few hours, maybe more at a time. To keep food cool enough during the day, and water for pets and livestock. I myself helped source a 25Kw (That's 25,000 watts btw) PTO driven generator for the local farmers and got a pot going where people donated fuel to keep the tractor running the generator running 24/7 and make sure nothing really went wrong with it.

Finally, there were the linemen, they have worked for a week nonstop now. During this weeks thaw they got stuck in ditches, it wasn't 15 min tops from what I heard that they sat there before a farmer with the heaviest chain they had extracted their truck, and even offered to stick around so they didn't have to wait. Farmers wives and daughters few them homemade meals to keep them warm, along with the countless gallons of coffee guzzled in the wee hours.

Right now other counties are releasing theirs and they are headed home with tired bones, and a fat ass check headed their way that they so deserve. But here, there are still those without power, even in town. But the generosity of this community knows no bounds. If you live across the street of someone with power, your welcome to crash with them, or string a power cord across the street.

Now I ask you, if that's not the Christmas spirit what is?

Oh, and pics of the carnage, and one nice one too.

11/5/07 08:38 pm - Unemployed yet again.

Yea... I quit my job today. I was so sick and tired of my boss. He was driving me ape shit crazy with his long winded bitches, acting like I had the mental capacity of a 2 year old, and what finally broke it for me, was him verbally abusing me and then acting like it was nothing.

Lets just start off with the first thing I did wrong today, around 10am. I went to a jobsite to pick up the old furnace a/c and stuff. And, backed into his Van with the flatbed. Cracked the Pass side tail light, put a decent sized crease in his back door. On his old ass work van. He jumped my ass, and started to hint I was retarded. (which really pissed me off inside) I let him rant knowing I messed up and went on about it. Looking to replace it on my own time.

Later after he came back from the jobsite (big surprise he's having someone else do all the hard work, when they aren't' licensed for it.) and starts asking me why I am so distracted. I didn't' tell him because honestly that's my life, not his. So by now I'm a full hour behind on working for the day because he wanted to talk for so long on this.

After lunch he has me doing more of the same, but this time I'm filling the flatbed up pretty tight and he wants me to put some florescent lights in the bed next to a bunch of heavy stuff. I didn't load them up thinking that was a bad idea and he calls to bitch me out about it. I hang up because unlike him I actually have a list of things to do that day and my battery was about dead anyway. He calls three more times.

I go back to the shop, deliver the lights. When I get back hes' waiting on me and starts going off. I won't sit and take it and tell him he needs to back off of me and let me do the work he has set out for me without him checking up on me every 5 min like he has bee doing since day one so I can do something other than check up with him.

This goes on for about 30 min. And I finally go off on him like a bomb, telling him he has no right to belittle me every turnaround and act like I get paid way too much for what I do. His mom overhears us and tries to convince me to stay but I just told her. "Well tomorrow when I get my paycheck I'll let you know."

I'm not going back there twice.

My sphere is Soldier (Unity in Strength and Action), and my class is Champion (Self-Righteous and Confident).

I am a Campaigner.

You have the mark of the Campaigner upon you. You have strong, self-righteous beliefs, and people who share your ideals. Your strong presence leaves the mark of leadership upon your shoulders, and you probably find yourself being the one who carries the mantle of "Alpha" on his shoulders.

What kind of Warrior are you?

My sphere is Soldier (Unity in Strength and Action), and my class is Rogue (Precise and Unhindered).

I am a Dark Artist.

If you were in the Republican Convention during Nixon's term of office, you would have been the one they sent to spy on and infiltrate Democratic Headquarters at Watergate. This isn't to say that you're a man of black operations or ill repute, but more to say that you have the efficiency and swift approach to carry out these tenuous, sometimes questionable, goals when most of your comrades might balk.

What kind of Warrior are you?

9/22/07 05:55 pm - Well, the trucks broke.

As I'm sure you all know I own a grey fullsize flatbed truck. It has a GMPP 350 with the SBC hotcam and its' mated to a Muncie 4 speed and stock running gear save for two GM 12 bolt Air front locker, and a spool type rear. The only other mod is a lift kitand the required big tires to fill the gap created by the lift. All in all the truck has set me back under 3 grand to get it to the way it is. It ran good, real good. For a big ol redneck mobile.

Anyways I went to the RCMR to test her mettle against other similar trucks, thanks to earlier larger trucks plowing through the mud I was making good speed towards the 140 foot mark and nearing the end of the pit. I woudl have been one of three people to do a full pull when I made a mistake of not straddling the ruts the larger trucks had dug. My front end went into the ruts and flung the rest of the truck skywards from 5 - 7 ' in the air and upon landing I broke my transfer case and lost 4wd. I was lucky to still have 2wd and was able to limp home.

Your Score: Zorg

60% Evil, 75% Intelligence, 55% Common Sense

Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg -- Zorg for short -- is the President and CEO of Zorg Industries, a large, mammoth corporate empire that specializes in firearms, spacecraft, and employs most of New York City's cab drivers. Zorg himself is a shrewd and ruthless businessman. He knows what he wants, and usually knows how to get it. He is also not afraid to get his own hands dirty to get a job done when his henchmen fail to do it properly the first time.

Zorg has a moderate rating in all three categories as he is generally regarded as one of the more successful of Evil Overlords (for a human, at least), although his end was brought about by the very people he betrayed.

9/13/07 08:19 pm - Another almost monthly update.

Bleh, so busy lately I almost forget completely about this. O got a new job as basically a delivery boy and janitor for a HVAC shop in town. Pays decent but the boss is a guy who inherited the place from his father. So basically you have a spoiled boy running his daddy's business. Albeit fairly well.

I've since being signed on weeded the entire storefront, set up a Robotic Plasma torch cutting table (still only half works, things a piece of shit but I'm not gonna say that to his face. Hell I got IT benifets from setting the dang thing up software wise.)seen a journeyman quit (he actually what to do, but didn't like the bossman.) and cleaned up that slobs work van. I kid you not I kicked a mouse out of the back today.

Oh and as far as owwies go form work I fell off the flatbed truck and for a while thought I broke my hip, blisters all over my hands, mangled up my left middle finger's outmost knuckle by raking it across the heat exchanger of a junked out A/C (think 20000 little papercuts that don't stop bleeding), blisters on my feet form my steeltoe boots and being on my hands and kneees half the time, and the general lumps form checking my shins on things.

I'm trying to get hired on at the local ethanol plant as a security gaurd as well. If I get hired there I'll quit the HVAC place in an instant, pay there is double my current job.

Anyways. I'm looking back at last weekend with a but of tiredness, Went and saw some semi-pro drag racing action.

All bracket cars though, so I was kinda annoyed by the fact you had so many 7 second cars puttering to about the 100' mark then taking off like bats outa hell. And pulling a 11-10 sec pass.

This weekend is the RCMR, so I gotta get my truck ready for that, weee. And next week maybe I'll have some days off.

The Mudruns were canceled the day before but I didnt get the call so I headed down there anyway.

The pit wasn't completely dug but the guy who owns the land didn't much care if I ran through a few times. I think I need better springs as I got valve float around 5500rpm on the re manufactured GM 350 block with a 400 crank (383 peoples! Bigger is better). While I'm in the off season I'm going to port match the intake and exhaust, and buy a set of long tube headers. And if money is still there I'm goign to trade out my 4.56 12bolt lockers for a pair of strange Dana 60s with the same ratio. I know a few guys are interested in trading because the 12s will give them more ground clearance. But the Dana 60's are more efficient so I will get more power to the mud.

Not 2 hours before that I was at my Grandma's funeral. She died April 27th. We had the funeral the 8th of August. Needless to say time doesn't heal wounds cut that deep, I miss her bad.

My nephew came form AZ and he brought his best friend along with him. They averaged high 20s in his GMC pickup, while here it gained some battle scars as it survived a tornado attempting to touch down, denting the roof, passenger side club door, and ruining the tailgate. It was still drivable and he drove it a lot around with his mom.

Before he came I burned my head with a bottle rocket and thankfully I don't have the scar form it anymore as it was only a shallow burn on the top of my head. My hair however looks to be forever gone in that location.

Oh and I am attempting currently to capture a bobtail domesticated cat. Wish me luck on catching stumpy.
